The last IPCC report flags code red for the climate. But if we gear up now, we can still slow down the development.

The North Sea has been a goldmine for Norway, but we cannot continue as before. NTNU Energy and SINTEF Energy have looked into how the North Sea can remain an arena for innovation and value creation also in the net zero-emission society.

They prepared three pieces of advice to politicians for how Norway can make the North Sea a platform for the green energy transition:

- Ensure sustainable development of the North Sea area

- Facilitate CO storage accordingly hundreds of "Longship projects" by 2050

- Maintain the knowledge lead
