The French ECCSEL ERIC node held a presentation on 13 December 2021 on the National CCUS seminar “The challenges of deploying CCUS in France”. Supported by ClubCO2 and ECCSEL ERIC, the seminar was successful with over 200 registrants. 

ClubCO2 is the French team of CCUS and shares information and initiatives between industrial, research, and institutional actors in France and brings together the French actors involved in CCUS.

The seminar discussed the challenges of deploying CCUS according to the specificities and needs of the territories, as well as to identify shared courses of action to allow for further development in France. It covered strategic visions for the deployment of CCUS in France, territorial issues, state of play and prospects of French research & innovation, regulatory issues (mining law, environmental law), societal perception and financing models for industrial deployment.
