Purpose

Postcombustion CO2 capture pilot on coal power plant flue gas. This facility allows all post-combustion processes testings on coal flue gas : with minor modifications for solvent based processes, more important for other processes.

Brief technical description

The CO2 contained in flue gas contains is 12 vol% and the facility can capture 25 t CO2/day (or less). The present equipment is a ‘classical’ solvent based process pilot.

State of the art, uniqueness, & specific advantages

This equipment is an existing device on a power plant which can be adapted to host different processes without building totally a new pilot.

A rare post-combustion CO2 capture pilot in an operational 600 MW Power Plant in Europe.
